Rabbit NOM NOM's @ The Tasty Pear !

The Tasty Pear in the newly refurbished (and stunning!) Bassemdean shopping center is a local pop up shop organised and run by Gill and Chantel. This is a pop up shop with a big difference - it really is a creative space with absolutely amazing decor and of course a large range of local creative design art and objects for you to purchase. Its a welcoming space that presents itself as a celebration of the results of a creative economy that is second to none right here in WA.

This pop up shop is a stand out for me - its just an absolute delight to be in.  It has a great range of really special things to buy and a great range of prices suitable for every single budget.   Its going to be around until the end of the year so you can get all of your gift shopping done in the one store.  Remember that its important to not only support the local creators of great gifts but also, these kinds of gifts are so much more special than mass produced products.   Make it extra special this year, buy local designer wares for those you love.

Of course, Shiny Rabbit is in the Tasty Pear Mix but so are many others - you will really be amazed at how this store is pulled together and how things have been displayed.  It's such a creatively gathered and displayed collection that it verges on the curatorial.

A must visit, The Tasty Pear will take care of all of your Christmas Gift needs in one lovely location!

The Tasty Pear is located at the Hawaiian Bassendean Shopping Center on

5 Ways our Whiteboards can help you to win in A Game of Thrones

1. Planus Perfectus

You will never forget a move if you plan your hit list on your whiteboard.

2. The Strategy Splattergy

Leave your fake strategy on your whiteboard in not too obvious, but accessible site.  Trick your enemies & pounce when they least expect it.

3. The Gorinator

Outline or sketch ultra violence on your whiteboard.  Use names.  Your opponents will be too scared to stand in your way.

Don't worry, I've got your back (in my swords sight!)

4. The Code Coefficient

Write a nonsense code on your whiteboard underlining it with the words “7 Kingdoms domination in 20 minutes”.  Your opponents will be too busy trying to break your code and forget that they have their backs to your sword.

5. Minimus Maximus

Tiny tiny words make your opponents move closer and closer to your whiteboard to read.  Has the added advantage of distraction and back placement ripe for sword like vengeance.

Some Things In Life ARE Free!

I thought I would start a weekly resource post where you will be able to find creative projects and the like for free! One of the best resources I have found might surprise you! Its the BurdaStyle page which is nicely mixed with their own products and community contributions. I absolutely love what they have done here and while you can bet they make good business lovin' from sharing like this it also sends a message that they do appreciate the communities skills and talent. Membership is free!

The awesomeness from this site includes:

  • your own project and profile page
  • projects and techniques available to all members
  • a great gallery to inspire
  • anyone can contribute their patterns
  • share your own triumphs in sewing (lord knows I have very few of those!)
  • they have project runway challenges, opportunities to forward develop and create from their designs
  • and best of all, the FREE patterns you can download from the company & community!

Happy Valentines Day!!!!!!

Sacred Starburst Heart brooch in Etsy Treasury!

It's not often that an Etsy treasury gets me really excited. For those of you who don't know what a treasury is, its a collection of Etsy creations from various makers curated by another Etsian. They can be really lovely and they are certainly a buzz to be included in.  But the themes while always nice and always well curated are themes you just fall into - this one by the folks at FolkHeartRecords had me thinking about just how vibrant and creative the curators in Etsy can be!

The challenge:  There is a secret message behind this treasury that will wake you up, make you smile and want to share the day.... click to see the treasury and comment if you can figure it out!

NEW!! Vegan Wrist Cuffs!

Pagoda Blossom Cuff - Blossom Pink
We have a wonderful new product we are adding to our range.  Its a range of wrist cuffs made from vinyl and acrylic felts - no leather, no wool... just the way we like it!  We always prefer to use non animal products where and when we can.

There are a couple of designs at this stage and more to come.  They will retail at a special introductory price starting at $20 for a Tweety Cuff to $26 for a Pagoda Blossom Cuff.  The blossom pink one shown here was a gift to the people who sold us our dear Crazy Ivan Laser machine. We added this cuff into the package with their generous purchase of our products to showcase in a upcoming trade show in the US in February!

Shiny Surprises!

Wellard Markets - what can I say!  OK it was a really nice day - the customers were far and few but everyone had the same customer base.  But what I really loved about the day were the people we knew who came by, some to see us and some just by accident and it ended up being a wonderful family & friends day!  Worth the stall fee on its own.
Wellard Markets January - click for larger image - again the layout is a bit limited by wind (such a windy town! :)

We had some wonderful feedback about the new products and as a result we have applied for William St festival Markets and Unwrapped Designer Market and are very excited about the prospect of attending those!

NEWS FLASH!
Also, I have just been informed that our Ice Berg "Ice Bitch" ring used in a photo shoot is being submitted to the next issue of Oyster Magazine! Karen magazine and another Mag which I am getting the name to soon from the Stylist -  How excitment!! :P

Our Ice Bitch ring

These will be released on our Etsy shop when the Mag is - but register for your interest in the comments section below. It's set to retail for a bargain at $15 (plus shipping) and stock is limited so get in soon!
